One such recent project involved a distinctive ’90s property that the homeowner purchased four years ago. She wanted to refresh the interior while still honoring the home’s rich history, and our team was more than ready to step up to the task. 

Getting to Know the Home

Before we began, Jennifer Cunningham, the home’s new owner, filled us in on its fascinating history. An architect had designed it as a gift for his wife, and the home was lovingly referred to as the ‘grand dame’ in honor of its femininity and strength.

That femininity and strength were apparent the moment we walked through the door. The home was bathed in natural light, with each room featuring beautifully dressed windows. Elegant arched entryways, classic wooden balconies, exposed-beam ceilings, and gently curving stairways offered our painters an incredible canvas.

As an interior designer, Jennifer was eager to be a part of the process.

“I feel our grand dame is radiant in her new palette, laughing with us about some of the color names,” she said.

That new palette proved to be as eclectic as it was delightful. Understated English green brought a fresh and verdant energy to the dining room. The living room’s neutral palette struck the right balance between cozy and airy, and little romantic touches—like the bedroom’s “Marry Me Pink” ceiling—brought everything together.
