Our featured project for May was a Newlands Home located in Boulder. This home is quite charming, however, it was weathered, and the color was outdated, so the owners wanted an exterior painting service to bring it back to life.
This exterior painting project required more than just a fresh coat of paint. Before we could begin the exterior painting, our painting crew performed extensive prep work to prepare the home for paint application. At Maurer Painting, we take the preparation to paint the home as seriously as we do the actual painting process and prep work is always included in our professional painting services.
Our first step, as with any painting project, was to protect the surrounding areas of the property by covering what was not being painted. With this home, we scraped the wooden exterior to remove debris and chipped paint. Once we scraped the exterior, we located gaps and imperfections that needed to be filled or corrected, then sanded those areas.
When those preparations were completed, we were able to prime the exterior, and ultimately, apply the exterior paint. The homeowner opted for a beautiful blue hue for the home’s exterior. The client also decided to transform the entryway to the home by having the porch stripped and stained. Our painters provided the same prep work for the porch, which was then stained a warm, rich shade of brown. The transformation of this Newland’s home was beautiful!
